Through the looking glass…

A porcelain beauty, dressed in creamy white flowing attire. Her body carved in a curvaceous perfection, her complexion like that of a spotless lily, her choco-blond tresses, rose bud cheeks and tulip petal lips…. she was an immaculate beauty. A glance at her would make you believe that fairy tale princesses are for real. Her smile had the power to herald spring, her glow could light a million desires, her melodious voice could make the tides take a high leap… she was like the tranquil, breezy, moonlit night by a serene waterfall. Heavens would bow down beneath her feet to caress her tender feet. She had it all- the name, fame, money and glamour, but her eyes…

Her eyes were grey in pain, deep and lonely like a dried up well, as if someone had unlocked her heart and stole away her soul. Though she’d hide it well under the veil of her beauty and smile, but the mirror was hard to betray. When she’d peep into that looking glass, a mere eye contact of the girl in the reflection would set her crystal-eyes spell pearls. Slowly ruining the calm in them and turning them a fiery red in hurt, like fresh bruises on her faith.

Despite of being blessed with abundance, there was something gravely amiss in her life. But for how long could she escape the reflection in the mirror. So, she finally met the eyes of the girl in the looking glass, who made her feel vulnerable. She stood naked in front of her, staring hard at her while she mocked at the utter hollowness of her blessed looks.

After hours of self-pity, the other side of her stopped the torture. Having shed all the covers of apprehensions and by embracing her naked self, the regret had left her too. She realized her soul was not stolen; it only lay there aloof, locked in memories of one whom she’d given herself to and did not deserve her. Shaking off the self-built shackles of devotion towards that demon, she finally felt the numbness wear off. Self-love and respect now flowed back into her arteries, making her warm again. And that’s when the curve of her smile lit up her no longer grey eyes, gleam in acceptance. And through the looking glass, she heard herself talk after ages…

“It’s okay to let go those who don’t deserve you. A lot of such people have a role to play, so as to twist the tale of your storyline; but forget not that you are the protagonist on the stage of your life.”

PS: A rough piece of random scribbling from college days made me re-craft this piece. This one is for anyone who has had a tough time in accepting the reality (whatsoever its nature be) and had to fight self ‘through the looking glass’.  As I wrote it, I also thought of some dear ones, hope you find the courage to be back being yourself again, soon!

Darkness is the shade of light...

Darkness dwells in the shade of light, which is just its other side... True to say that its existence is inevitable, but this can't be the theory of your life.

For you are bright and brimming with talent, don't let the winds blow off your fire... With the desire to glow forever, burn the dark in you to bring out more light.

And when the darkness surrounds and surmounts you over, shake it off and embrace love... Send out words of gratitude and recall all happy memories... Let the darkness have a vision of good in your life and witness the shade of light...

Harness positivity to fuel actions that will fill the missing blocks of your life!

Beyond and above all selfishness, there’s a free zone of goodness and positivity. But to reach that outer space one has to propel past from woes, worries, vices and all the negativity. Often the situations grip you and might hijack your brain, draining all your energies and directing them towards situations not under your control. Stop, detach and cut your emotions that very moment. Align all issues at hand in points. Analyze and prioritize them for a solution each. List out all possible solutions. See what and how much is workable and under your control. And finally sort out those problem-solution combos that are in contradiction.

All this might require a great deal of your rationale mind and lot more energy to stop your already-on-roll negativity. It is like changing the current of your thought streams. If need be, jot them on a piece of paper or use the voice recorder on your phone. If comfortable chat it out with a friend or think of it as someone else’s problem because most of us are good at solving it for others, but unable to clear it out for self; which is fine and normal, like a doctor can’t operate a dear one of their own, similarly we too get emotionally involved and surrounded by love for our life.

We keep staring at the path that we wanted our life to take and instead we miss out on the other opening that awaits us. Though that other opening might have a flicker of light guiding you or could be a path packed with sheer darkness, but have faith in what you have asked for and when you ask, ask sensibly and with full belief. Things will move, they might take some time, but soon they will reach you and fill the missing blocks of your life when it actually must.

YOU!

Occurrence of some awful events and presence of some mean people in your life can turn your life upside down. They can rob you off your happiness and suck the energies away. It takes time to grow your self-back and resurrect your confidence. In such times, create no opinions about your self and pass no judgment on your capabilities. But let the phase simply pass by, have faith on time and it shall heal all the hurts and ease the pain you bear now.

Let nothing stop you from loving your art. Make the passion stay.

Don’t ask much from yourself. Just enjoy being YOU!
